Build is looking so sweet! I know Brent is excited about this and I can't wait to get the call to come up and drool all over it. I think this thing would rock with a set of supermoto wheels for the summer

Oh yeah, it would make a good super moto engine.
It would certainly be faster then my super moto :D
Of coarse just about every engine Jason and I build is faster then mine.
I will have to change that on my next build.
The problem is, my engine isn't showing any signs of wearing out and I can't justify a rebuild...
Oh well...

3rd gear input and the crank.
As soon as those two get here we can assemble the bottom end, then set a degree wheel on your crank and make all the custom port mods to the cylinder that we can't do until we have the bottom end done.
With KX500's every engine is like a snow flake... There all a bit different right from the factory.
Once the crank has been degreed then we can send the head out for it's custom cut and the decompression mod as well as get the cylinder plated.
Doing it this way we get the best possible outcome that we can..
And the really cool thing is, if at some point you want even more power all you need to do is sent me your cylinder and I can make the additional mods and send it back to you with a new base gasket set and away you go.
But, I don't recommend any more power until you try this first.
Remember, no matter how good you build a engine, the faster and harder you run them, the longevity decreases as well..

I spent a few more hours porting today..

A lot of work getting these to blend with the skirt...
It is still in it's rough cut stage but the hard part is done..

Look at the left side of the cylinder... That is Eric's work.
Now look at the right side.... That is our work.
You'll note how much better the blends are where the different surfaces meet... Not to mention we need it to breath a bit better then how it was set up :ugeek:

The object is to get higher port velocity and volume...

It's looking awesome! Sooooo can't wait to crack that throttle! Makes sense to button up the bottom before doing any port timing though, honestly wouldn't expect any motor to have manufacturing tolerances tight enough to get that perfect... but that's why i sent it to you guys!

Most engines aren't as touchy as the K5's...
And, like I said, we can get one close enough for most people but I want this engine to be a bit more special :D
