2000 KX500 VS. 2009 KX450F Sand drag....
The 2009 KX450F was fully rebuilt last year and is in excellent running condition.
The rider weighs 140lb.
The 2000 KX500 had a new piston and ring set installed 3 years ago.
It has no other engine mods and the rider weighs 225 lb.

Nope.... The old dog still has some beans but it's starting to feel a bit sluggish so it's time for a upgrade

Just think about the weight difference.... 85lb?
The KX450F is no slouch... It simply shows why the KX500 won Baja 9 years running and would still be competitive today if they had the proper support.

Agreed. The K5 is arguably the best big-bore 2-stroke ever made.
