Bonding Aluminum.
With a little research I found several Aluminum glues.
Then it occurred to me, why not use Loctite?
That stuff is brutal, but which kind?
That would depend on your project.
I'm thinking about the 2 piece clutch cover project.
The problem is expansion, oil immersion, bonding surface contact size, vibration, and temperature fluctuation (Probably a few more).
As well as Loctite holds together bearings to shafts, ect I'm wondering if it wouldn't work.

What you bonding Sir?, Id assume an ring to bolt a cover to. My call has always been jb weld unless it needs to be a little flexible then I use a clear permatex 2 part epoxy. I think with what your doing jb would be the best bet though. I think if your adapter ring is on the "outside" of the existing clutch cover, you wont thermal crack near as easy. I wolud also countersink a few screws from the inside to help prevent the possibility of initial movement . If its fixed in place to start it wont move & break free

I havent seen a loctite that fits the bill of what your after altough they do make some good shit

He didn't say that it wouldn't work but he did say that he'd hate to loose the cover 70 miles out in the desert...
Makes sense.
Then again. if it's done right with the right bonding agent I know it would work.
But, who want's to be a Guinea Pig with their ride?
