Well let's see.
They deal primarily with low life scum bags
People will typically lie to get out of a speeding ticket
The same people will vote down a police budget increase yet complain when there never seems to be an officer around
These same people put police under so many restrictions that they can barely do their real job because they are too busy filling out paper work on why they had to punch some perp in the face because
A. They were caught red handed beating a little old lady senseless for meth money,
B. The perp violently resisted arrest.
C. The perp threatened the officers and their families (With explicit details).
D. The perp then tried to spit on the officers and screamed profanities at them on the way to the station.
E. The perp is given a public defender who then tries to muddy the waters with false accusations against the arresting officers and any body else he can think of.
F. If the Meth head gets convicted he does not do any time because the same people who voted the budget down didn't think about the jails not having any room or funding to keep them open and full.
A happy jail is a full jail
How many of you have to go to work knowing that at any time your life could be on the line because you pulled someone over for a broken tail light or some nut job with a gun goes off the deep end?
You could be out to lunch one minute and have bullets breaking the glass over your head the next with no vest, helmet, or tactical gear.
Just you, your partner, and your weapon.
Yes, sometimes officers have a bad day and hurt your feelings
The next time you get pulled you over and the officer says something like, "Do you know why I pulled you over?" or "Do you know how fast you were going?"
Try being brutally honest, "Yes office I was going 75 in a 65 and I have no excuses.
You never know you just might just make their day and they might just make yours.
