yellow to yellow wires .3-1.0 ohm - pickup coil 100-148 OHM
Testing your stator is fairly straight forward.
You can do it on the bike or off the bike.
In this case I am testing it off the bike as I already had it removed.
If you look at the big connector you will see 3 yellow wires that go into the stator itself.
Take your OHM meter and test all combination of the 3 yellow wires.
You should be from .3-1.0 OHM
Now test the Red and White wires on the small plug.
You should be within 100-148 OHM.
If your a little out of spec it's no worry as most OHM meters have different internal resistance so the readings can be a little different.
If you get no resistance or, the resistance is very high there is a good chance that your stator is junk and needs to be replaced.
Before you order a new one (Very expensive) you might want to take your Stator to your nearest Kawasaki dealer and have them test it.
Most dealers won't charge you to test it.
However, if you order a new one and that is not really what is wrong with your bike, you are stuck with it as new parts dealers will NOT take back electrical parts.
Any questions or problems?
Feel free to ask.
Thanks!
