There is a easy way to find out...
I have three 89-04 kx500 heads in my possession.

My four 89-04 KX500 heads measure the following:
.882" or 22.40MM (Shaved)
.895" or 22.73MM (shaved)
.911" or 23.14MM
.906" or 23.01MM

From a very reliable source he says that New heads from Kawasaki measure .910-.912"

I would suggest measuring more then one location around your head

Here is some approximate uncorrected compression numbers based on stock head cut that has been shaved.
.875 is approx 13:5-1
.850 is approx 15:1
