Thanks for the pics, I appreciate your efforts.
I have a WR500 and I am trying to find an aftermarket reed assembly for the intake. Moto Tassinari don't make anything for this model so I was looking at maybe trying to modify a KX 500 Reed to suit, unless you know of an aftermarket assembly that would work.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

1988 MOTOCROSS - YZ490U
1989 MOTOCROSS - YZ490W
1990 MOTOCROSS - YZ490A
1992 WR500ZD
1993 WR500ZE
I'd use the stock cage with some after market petals.
If I got ambitious I'd just make my own reed block and design it around some carbon fiber petals.

I was told that Yamaha didn't make reed valves for these models anymore and that the carb manifold has been out of production for a while. My engine didn't come with a reed valve assembly. Moto Tassinari don't make anything for these models. So i'm trying to find something aftermarket and new or modify something to suit. Any other ideas around this?

Yes, buy a good Used reed from a YZ490.

Then, buy a new set of after market reed petals like these ones.

Other then that, make your own or patiently watch eBay every day..
