Well. Now that the K5 is pretty much wrapped up. (still ironing out some things as you know, and some testing with differant parts, port times, etc etc)... I consider that "tinkering"... So Im moving on to the next RESTORATION.
Anyone interested in following it?.. Wont hurt my feelings if your not.... As its not green. (IT WILL BE THOUGH... BRITISH RACING GREEN to be exact.... But if you are, Ill put forth the effort to let you guys watch...

It was in milk crates and had lived outside when I got my hands on it...
Sorry its dirty in the pic.. it had just done 300miles through death valley etc...

I have been picking at this slowly for a while.. (in between KX blowups, My truck motor blowing up, etc etc)... been put on hold a few times lets just say...
Its GETTING DONE this time around..
what is done already.
Frame etc Powdercoated.
all hardware has been Cad Plated
All Chrome has been done
New Superblend bearings in lower end,
Crank rebuilt
new NOS .020" over Hepolite pistons
ENTIRE rotating assembly DYNAMICALLY balanced
New black diamond valves, seats, guides, etc etc
Wheels are Boroni alum, laced with Polished stainless Bucanin spokes.
Umm.. thats the top of my head at the moment..
Ill be digging parts out of my closet tomarrow (yes they live in the closet). I have been offered $1200 for the front HUB alone.. as its off a mid 60's FACTORY Yamaha Road race bike..
The Bike has TRICK parts all over it... it was built in LongBeach CA by (name illudes me now) but he was a 1960's Factory road racer (you would know his name if I said it). and had a Motorcycle shop in Longbeach at the time... This bike was built for one of his buddys, to go "run the hills" with.. (Ill dig my documentation out of the gun safe later)
