Cleaning out older radiators that have magnesium cases

I haven't tried this myself but here is what a member over at Bannedcr500riders.com had to sat regarding cleaning out the magnesium out of some older radiators.
"my '87 radiators being full of magnesium after the water pump / clutch housing imploded.
I jammed a potato in the bottom radiator outlet filled it up with coca cola and left them soak for 3 days.
Flushed out with the hose and you have nice clean radiator tubes "
This is something I will have to try and see if it works.
