Yeah, I think it's time to mash up the homies and huck my modded xr80 fo some syck air, now that I have that behind me :lol:

I know, you were all hoping this would go away but..... There is some restrictions that can be reduced.
Not as much as the cover but every little bit can help... Maybe...

Believe it or not, the round end has the most restriction :shock:
Without making your own elbows I'm not sure there is much else you can do to make the flow better in these pieces...

I need to dig out one of my extra CYL heads.. and cut it up to see some stuff first.

no.. wont need it.


was only an idea (the way it is designed) would have to fabricate parts....







god its so tempting to just make an adaptor plate and bolt up a GSXR1000, BUSA, R1, etc....... waterpump................. of course.. then it may pump too much and cause cavitation in the radiators.

Here's a quote from Larry Wiechman who does some really cool mods.

Maximum heat transfer at maximum delta T.
It's hard to cool the hottest component, the head, with a fluid that has already been heated by the cylinder.
A higher pressure radiator cap, minimal antifreeze concentration and lots of coolant flow is a good start.

The Cyl head does operate at a higher temp than the cyl, but if you reversed the flow, the higher temp of the cyl head would heat the cyl. no?

The cyl doesn't see the temp of the head,(Hopefully) so although the coolant is absorbing heat from the cyl, it will still be lower than the cyl head temp.
So I'm thinking the (now heated) coolant is still able to absorb heat from cyl head (because of the higher temp differential).
I agree the theory of cooling the hottest part of the system with the lowest temperature of the return coolant would give you the lowest cyl head temp.
For me this raises two more questions,how much more will this raise the operating temp of the cyl?
And would this raise the whole system temp?
Does this make any sense?
