Re: Sean Colliers KX500 build
This will add several hours to this build but it's for Sean, Why not?

Yes.... It's getting a ridiculous attention to the minutest detail
And Jason has not even started to clean the case yet...

Re: Sean Colliers KX500 build
I've has a few people ask if we are going to polish the cases.
The answer is a emphatic no....
These will have a super clean factory finish when we are done vapor blasting them.
This is always a trouble spot around the output shaft.
Especially when a wide chain and small sprocket has been used.
But as you can see, Jason has really cleaned this area up
It came in looking like this..

I want to take some time to thank those who have contributed to our effort so far. Your gratitude is appreciated and will not be forgotten. I recently took Sean out to LACR for a test on his current KX500, a friends KX500 which was built by KX Guru Racing, and my personal KX500 and CR500AF to gather data. All four of these 500's are built differently and we now have an excellent idea of the motor we will be building and the type of power that Sean is looking to get. Throughout the day I took footage using a hand held camera and I have Go Pro footage of Sean riding all 4 bikes. The footage that I took during the test is currently being edited and will be posted for everyone's viewing real soon. Once again, Thank you all.

Here is the 97 KX250 carb we are working with..
I'm not saying that we are going to use it but from all indications it would be a good carb to run.
I'm going to get it cleaned up in the ultra sonic cleaner and put it on my 500 for some testing..

Re: Sean Colliers KX500 build
The crank is prepped (Cleaned and a basic polish) and ready to go to Motorrad so that he can balance the assembly.
Motorrad will be removing a lot of the weight from the piston assembly and less from the crank then what we normally do.
It is time consuming and very expensive to do.
But there are other benefits as we will be discussing in the future.
