Looking good Sandy.
How are you going to tackle the step down from the y piece to the standard frame rails?

I sold the "Y" piece this morning
I believe that you simply weld it up for a transition.
Hopefully the guy who bought it will send me some pics of what he decided to do.

Why did you sell it? Get a good offer?
Would you recommend it as an alternative to the usual frame conversion mods eg new and longer lower rails and relocated frame y piece?

I still have to finish my current build so starting another is a bit overwhelming right now.
The biggest reason I picked up the Y piece to begin with is because the guy who had it needed a part so we traded
Then, I had a offer I couldn't refuse to sell it
I believe that this Y piece would be a lot easier and possibly stronger then the way I did my conversion.
The Y piece certainly appears to be substantially built.
Yes, I would consider using this piece as it would certainly save a lot of time and effort.

I know this is an old thread , but does anyone know if this bloke stil sells this Y piece . Or anyone else that makes Y pieces for kx 500 af conversion .

I have tried many times to get in contact with the guy that made the Y piece but with no success.
I guess he doesn't want to make them any more..
I actually used the Y piece from a 01 CR250 for my 07 conversion.

Il start hunting around for other aliminium guys , there's lots of cr 500 af Y pieces floating around , I wonder if I could modify it to fit kx ?, Does anyone else know where I can buy kx 500 af Y piece

You might want to PM Roostius_Maximus.
He makes the Y pieces for the CRF and he might be looking at doing them for the KX..
In fact he makes a CRF kit that comes with many pieces besides just the Y piece.
