The pics make it appear as though it is cast but it is not.
Here is a quote from the maker of these pieces:
It's not cast.
It's 6061 aluminum so it braking is not going to happen.
Same aluminum the factory uses, but thicker.
I've jumped over 120 ft jumps at the dunes will this same mount on my bike.
You would have to throw your bike off a cliff to break it. Lol
It is very strong but still flexible so it doesn't snap if you have a hard landing/wreck.
It's 1/4 and 3/16 thick pieces welded than heat treated, so they all are fused together as if it was one piece.
That way it's a light weight mount.

So that's it, raw and untouched.
It looks very strong.
And, I think it could be cleaned up to look awesome.
But, we'll see :D

I spent a few minutes cleaning up the Y piece.
I did not clean up the inside of the Y and I didn't spend more then about 20 minutes polishing.

To give you a idea of how beefy this Y piece is, I am comparing it to the standard rail thickness used in conversions
