For now I will remove the bolt but in the future, I will remove the mount and help streamline the frame..

Ok... I received a cheapo rear brake lever with a folding tip...

Pressed in two bushings and...

Fits perfectly...
So, on to the next issue... the rear brake caliper mount...

How much to rebuild my kx500 to put the KX450F rear brake asy on?

We have not even finished the project yet but as soon as we do I'll let you know.

In case you want to do the rear brake lever conversion, use the KX250F rear brake lever 04-16.
You will need two bronze bushings, ID 12mm, OD 16mm, Length 12mm.
Once you press the new bearings in, you will need to slightly ream the ID of the bushings as they do not want to slip right on.
