That's interesting. Cool process. 2.5hp out of a 450, that's 5% is it? That's a massive gain!

Yeah, stock my kx500 is suppose to put out 63 hp at the crank.
Most of the dyno runs I have seen show 51-52 rear wheel HP out of a stocker.
If I can get a few of those hp back I'm all in :D
If bikes are for kids I'll never grow up.

I thought I would share this with you. This is a XR650r turbo built by a Norwegian guy who I contacted through Benny from Sweden(the guy who built the turbo XR650 on you tube) HP who built this bike, I think I'm right in saying, started by acquiring parts from Benny. This bike has a lot of kms on it, the plenum is new but the rest of the setup has proven itself already. HP has a dyno print out of 100hp at the rear wheel, after this he started mixing 15% of e85 with the gasoline and upped the fuel pressure, this resulted in a good boost in power which was providing wheelies in top gear as the power came on. Incredible. The thing about this build that I really like is the simplicity of the setup, an elegant solution. It's all there to see, exhaust feed into turbo, exhaust out of turbo, pressure feed to plenum from the turbo and the oil feed to the turbo. I would love to get as near to where HP is as possible. My thanks to HP for letting me use and share this photo, its a good incentive for me to keep building. I plan to take some time off in May to get on with some building. First though I have to take a quick trip to mainland uk to pick up a bike I have bought, kinda a part of this project and kinda not, kawasaki it is. I will also pick up the dyno parts I bought last year and get that project under way too.
Again thanks HP for letting me post up this picture. Elegant build.

Benny the Swedish guy had a running 120hp version at one time and thought there was still tuning potential. ???? That's something else......

It's amazing what a little extra air can do :D
I don't doubt those HP numbers.
Guys running Timbersled conversions with 450's are getting 100 HP with a turbo so why not...

Yeh I found that boondockers site and vids when I was looking around the internet before I started this build. It seems the turbo option has a bit of potential! A guy just replied to my post on supermotojunkie saying some guy had 136hp out of a turbo KTM 625!!!! Wow.

Here is two more photos of HP's bike.
