We have sold on eBay since 1998 and have always appreciated their sales platform.
For those of you that don't know, the eBay Global Shipping Program was available to Top Rated Sellers and offered many advantages for International sales.
First... the cost is significantly less for Shipping through the eBay Global Shipping Program then through USPS.
Next, the import fees are calculated and shown on the ad so that the buyer does not get any surprises.
And very important for us is the protection we received when shipping Internationally.
Somewhere around the last part on September 2014 the Global Shipping Program stopped working and International sales dropped off dramatically..
We limped along till Friday the 3rd and I called eBay and played the waiting game.
When I finally was able to talk with someone they said everything looked good on my listings and system settings.
They were suppose to have someone get back to me.
Monday rolls around and nobody had called me back, so I called again....
This time after being disconnected, talking to 6 different eBay Reps, and spending over 3 hours on the phone, I was finally told that eBay cancelled the Global Shipping Program for Used Automotive and Motorcycle parts.
Of course we didn't hear anything about it through eBay and I see their discussion boards have no info on it.
Thanks eBay, just another way you are hurting good sellers.
Speaking of policies that are hurting good sellers, wait till people find out about PayPal's soon to be released "Item not as described" policy.
I don't want to spill the beans just yet but lets just say that for people selling used products, you are gonna be in for a big shock
