1986 KX500 I got on trade, I didn't get a bill of sale but I got a clean CA Duplicate title
To save you the time. It needs:
Intake boot. Dry cracked sucking in air.
Exhaust mount broke.
Possibly crank seals.
Runs strong Just smoking a bit. I might be running it rich at 32/1 Redline.
Strong Clutch
Current green sticker and registration.
Tons of compression.
Water pump fine.
Just needs to be dialed, Its a old race bike.
This Year KX500 I have seen sell for quite a bit. One of the most powerful Stock 500 Motors from the old era.

2002 KX 500. You know the story, its a very powerful bike, not for beginners.
Bike was complete except top end was bad. Bike from California, still has sticker
I went ahead and had a new cylinder sleeve put in the head. Had it done professionally ,buy an outfit out of Minnesota that just sleeves bike/ATV cylinders. I'm not a big fan of the nickel-plated aluminum cylinders, so I had a real metal sleeve put in.
Its back at stock bore with new piston and rings. You can bore it like 6 + more times now.
Never even been in 5th gear for me, I dont have enough space to open her up that fast!
Could use some plastics, but I am realistic, its a dirtbike. I have not crashed it yet, but suspect it will get dropped a few times in the dirt, so just left the plastics alone.
Mechanically, a very solid bike. Runs great and goes VERY fast.
New Air filter. All else works well. I believe I have a new back tire I can include.
If you can crank this bike, I will entertain cash offers on the spot.
