KLR650 Cush drive hub on a KX500?
At first glance it appear as though there is room.
The KLR650 rear hub with the cush drive installed is 159-160mm.
The inside swing arm measurements on the kx500 is 194.5mm.
So that leaves us approximately 17.5mm on either side of the swing arm for spacers.
Also, both hubs use 36 spokes...
That means it's time time to get the parts pulled and see what issues we may or may not have..

As you can see in the pics below we have some issues...
All the pictures are taken with the brake rotor touching the brake mount on the right side of the swing arm.
On the left side, the sprocket would be to far to the left for correct alignment.
Also the rotor bolts are rubbing.

On the right side the brake rotor rubs on the rear brake mount on the swing arm.

Ok, so could this still work?
I think so.
You would have to remove the mounts on the swing arm for the rear brake.
Then you would have to relocate the rear brake caliper mount by fabing up something and having it welded to the swing arm.
If I was going to go through that much effort I'd also look into a dual piston caliper.
What I was hoping for was a little less expensive way to get a cushion drive on the KX500.
So it's back to the drawing board for now
