Fat Tire 590
I’m thinking of trying out one of the Shinko 505 cheater tires on my 02 KX500. Has anybody tried putting a 120/90-19 on their 5 hundo? A buddy has one he’s not going to use because he got rid of his 19” rim. Looks like it might be a tad too fat, as the 110/90 I have on there now already looks like it’s using up most of the space there.
Thanks, all y’all.
Thanks, all y’all.

Since all tires are not created equal you will likely just have to try it.
I have ran a 130 on my KX500 and it barely fit..
I had to remove the chain guard and then re-install it after the tire was on, but it worked.
On my Supermoto I run a 160 and it barely fits.
It's a chore to get it around the brake caliper even with the chain guard removed and I have to run a spacer on my sprocket so the chain does not rub on the tire... But it works

Well, I suppose I’ll give it a go then.
If you got a 130 in there, I should be able to squeeze in a 120. The Geomax AT 81RC that’s on there now is a 110, but it measures about 120.
Thanks,
Brent.

Yep, tire sizes are all over the place.
You think it wouldn't be difficult to get it right...

Well, for anyone out there who wants to try this tire on a KX500, it fits. Barely. But, it fits. The chain is the only obstacle. I’ll let y’all know how I like this tire when I get a chance to ride it. Here’s a quick pic.

Re: Fat Tire 590
While we are on the subject,
Sort of,
I’m looking to put a second back wheel together for the 02 KX500, so I don’t have to run my soft tire on the road , and for a paddle from time to time. If I could find a whole wheel in good shape, that would be cool. Otherwise, what hubs work well without any mods? Any suggestions on where to find one, preferably at least a complete hub/disc. Bare stuff is ok too. I’m planning on new rims for my current wheels in the fall, so worst case, I can just build a new back one now.
Thanks,
Brent.

Haven’t really seen anything that appealing on eBay lately. Any other ideas?
