I would have called to verify the VIN with the local police dept if She/he had posted it.

We all deal with scams due to the easy access of Internet around the world.
This is one that is taking place on Market Place and PayPal.
This ad was on Facebook Marketplace.
This was a killer price... Which is the first warning..
But, occasionally, someone gets themselves into a jam and needs money ...

From the bottom of the cylinder to the deck a stock KX500 cylinder 90-04 should be 142.2mm.
If yours is less, then it has been decked or material has been removed from the bottom.

Typical dimension while the piston is a TDC, the height between the outer edge of the piston to the deck is ...

Well... Today I dropped in a 6mm stroker..
That's a radical change in port timing... :lol:
These numbers are approximate but close enough for what I needed to see..

.000" base gasket = 190 degrees of exhaust port timing..
.075" total lift = 194 degrees of exhaust port timing..
.095" total lift ...
