Re: Sunny Garcia Pro surfer KX Guru Racing KX500 build
Sunny showed up for a visit at Oscar's garage this morning.
This is what Oscar said, "Got to spend 3 hours this morning shooting the breeze with Surfing legend Sunny Garcia! Super cool easy going dude!! Discussed everything from food to bikes!! We have some amazing ideas on the direction we will be taking with the Hawaiian Beast build!!"
I hope we get the engine soon up in Oregon.
Jason can't wait to get his mits on it

The next step is to pop the head and measure the port timing.
And of course measure and record the head step, overall thickness, gasket thicknesses, ect.

Re: Sunny Garcia Pro surfer KX Guru Racing KX500 build
So much fun...
Next, I split the crank halves and cleaned them up a bit.
Remember, if you want a dirty crank in your bike, send the crank builder a dirty crank...
You'll get back a dirty crank with a nice new rod
Normally we do all our own porting but this time we are sending the head and cylinder to Tom Morgan at TMR for one of his world famous port jobs.
Also, he will true, balance, and assemble the crank for us. Normally Jason or I do our own porting but this is a collaborative effort with Tom, Racer X magazine, Jay Clark, and others. We have another project that we will be working with Tom on in the future for another Motocross action magazine build so stay tuned.
