Riley Ranch.....MX track? Hauser, Oregon.

Post by sandmaster995 » Wed May 22, 2013 2:48 pm

I've been waiting and wondering, Has anyone heard any info on the MX track that it supposed to open at Riley Ranch?
Last year I was driving to Hauser twice a month asking (and whining) about the track, and when it would open. The gentleman there kept telling me "next month". I eventually stopped bugging him. Now, I've been hearing rumors of the track opening this summer. Does anyone know ? I have called, and the answering machine gives no relevant info.

I didn't even know it was there....
Here is their Facebook page:

Ok, here is some info.
This link takes you to a article on the whole deal:
http://www.southcoastshopper.com/articl ... _8_12.html

Here is the part that you are interested in:
Also in the day-use area, refinements are in the works on the popular MX motorcycle track, which has been closed while the county resolves some legal and liability issues, Robison said. A new kid’s track and area for ATV and safety training will be added to the track’s interior, he said. “We’re shooting to have it open this summer.”
Visitors will be able to use the MX track for no charge. OHVers taking off from the day-use area will pay either a $5 day-use fee or get a $30 annual permit.

Apparently they are planning on doing Sandfest there is July so they better get busy.

FYI...... During Sand Fest, the dunes in Florence are not very populated :D.
But as the day progresses, the "professional sand racers" do return.
Oh, I tried to run-over one of the guys from your shop on my access road, to no avail. he's pretty quick. kidding of course ;)

I might be going over on Monday.
I'm working on getting the heat gauges installed, oil changed, rejetted, ect.
Should have it done today though.
So it will depend on the weather and my wife...
