Removing the KX500 Auxiliary exhaust port walls

Post by Sandblaster » Thu Aug 06, 2015 9:30 pm

I always wanted to try this but never had the correct tools to try it.
Now that I dumped a wad of cash at CC Specialties I'm ready to give it a go.
While this is a practice cylinder I don't want to ruin it as there is some interesting plans for it...

Since I run a decompression head I don't need the little decompression reliefs so on my person version I will weld them in and blend them in.
That way I will be able to have a greater trapped volume :geek:

This is all for now.
Still gotta weld up the compression reliefs so no sense getting carried away.

When welded, bored, and plated, the exhaust port will look like this

Looking from the main exhaust port, this is what the stock sub ports look like
