81cr450:
Thats a pretty good burn pattern. Just a couple thoughts I've had on doing this. Paul F you in the A Class, had a divided intake boot to help keep & improve a sweet burn pattern like that. So all the charge doesnt end up on the right side of the motor. Where can I get that, someone said watercraft?Huh??
Also Dave have you considered reducing crankcase volume, use the cr5 piston & rod shave from top & bottom to shorten the barrel & valves a couple mm. The valves you could just cut out of the stem between drum & gear as long as you had a jig.
2 more while I'm at it, the volume in the transfers,ex side, I can see you removed the divider, the drum becomes a restriction at some point so the drums should be cut to increase the volume in the exhaust port. You also showed a k5 cylinder with a flange welded on the outside of the jug so the pipe junction is larger, when you finally look at the cpi pipe youll see the volume theyre trying to deliver at that point. For that matter ask Roost about porting the CR5 clear out into the flange. I know youre thinking intake side , cooling etc... dont forget theres alot of room in the xhaust too
Finally I weigh 165 & live in Utah, am lighter than you, please I'd help with about anything you could ask. I'd even polish your rod grin

Motorrad:
So a pair of old German FAGs knocked on my door today.
And you thought I was telling a joke.

Motorrad

My Jug is going to drop .0523"

somewhere on this site, somone had a team green bike, that had a watertight connection plug on the motor harness for easy removal.

was that your bike Tom? Since I was lazy and CUT my wire's when I removed the motor this time (I planned to put a plug on it or I wouldnt have). I now need one to put it back together.

Just ordered new tires, and Tubliss for the bike.
90/100 Mx71, and a big OL maxxis desert

Yeah Toms had the weather pack plug. I believe you can get something of the sort at Napa

2-Stroke Tom

Your guys are correct, mine has the all weather plug. Here is the best picture I have it of it.

Mohave

As far as connectors go you might also be able to get some mil-spec high temp from a place like this
http://www.deutschconnector.com/product ... onnectors/

Used Deutsch connectors when I was a tech building flight hardware, which has the highest standards except for space applications.

Good stuff, overkill, but good. It's not like it won't be overkill anyways so you might as well stick with the theme...

Dutch-K5 Fan

Nice body kit, DAKAR ambitions? grin

Deutsch connectors works verry good, at work we use Superseal connectors.
Well used in the car industry like Deutsch

They have a nice selection of products to fit most needs...

Motorrad

hmm trans bearing 92045C feels crunchy.

sandblaster

Stinks that you just replaced it a short time ago and now you have to do it again... :x

Motorrad

And that one is the blind hole one

sandblaster

Yep, I looked it up.
If it was on the out put shaft I'd say ok, they are abused and any time my engine builder does a bottom end he automatically plans on replacing it.
But the bearing you need usually feels good.
So, you gotta wonder, why :?:

Motorrad

Was a new nsk bearing too hard to find that one
