Motorrad:
Should weigh the 90mm vs 86mm ;0). Or better yet. Vs a wiseco

sandblaster:
Yeah, I noticed.... Your awesome... cheesy
My scale isn't really good for small weight differences but we'll see what the old girl will do tomorrow..

Motorrad:
dont forget to weigh with and without the wrist pins wink

sandblaster;'
Good idea....
I don't have a Wiseco on the shelf any more smiley
There is one in my SM but it's not ready to replace yet grin

Motorrad:
too bad. You would be shocked.
look hard on the site, there is a wiseco weight somewhere. from me or "S"

sandblaster:
here are some piston weights for you to think about the stock pin is tapered inside and 80 grams the wiseco pin is 85 grams and straight wall...the stock piston with no pin or locks or rings is 395 grams,,the stock 1st design wiseco is 370 grams...the window cut first design wiseco is 366 grams...second design wiseco with window cut is 398 grams with no other lighting mods

Motorrad:
so 398 with a window, piston only. keep in mind wiseco wrist pins are MUCH heavyer than wossener... The anwer is in round 2 somewhere when I was weighing a bunch o wrist pins.

Foxx4Beaver:
yeah the Wiseco pins are like a chunk of lead compared to the Wossner....I don't have a scale handy, but you can clearly see the substantial difference between the two. Wossner on the left Wiseco on the right.

I don't have an OEM pin on hand...but there is a thread that shows the OEM is 4grams lighter than Wiseco.

sandblaster:
Here is what I found.
Due to a crude scale I can't be as accurate as Motorrad but you'll get the idea..

Stock used Kawasaki 86mm piston with minimal wear no window.
Piston .9lb with no rings
Wrist pin .2lb, 18.89mm OD, 11.25mm ID in the middle but it is tapered internally on both ends, 63.82mm long.

Wossner Stock new 86mm with window
Piston .8lb with no rings
Wrist pin .15lb, 18.89mm OD, 12.8mm ID, 61.03mm long.

Wossner modded by Motorrad used 90mm and slightly worn with window
Piston .9lb with rings
Wrist pin .15lb, 18.89mm OD, 12.8mm ID, 61.03mm long.

Wiseco 86.5mm with minimal wear no window
Piston .95lb with rings
Wrist pin .2lb, 18.9mm OD, 11.85mm ID, 63.37mm long.

Jeff ward round 2 comment by Motorrad:
Oh.. BTW people.. the wossener wrist pin is LIGHT! only 72ish Grams (or was it 74...) either way.. its about 10 grams lighter than stock..

Wrist pins comment by Motorrad:
But the OEM wrist pin is about 4-5 grams lighter than the Wiseco one...

10 grams = 0.0220462 lb

alward25:
Didnt you have a titanium pin?

Motorrad:
Just picked up new mains. $13 each for old stock german FAG rated to 24,000 rpm

Motorrad:
Yep. but not in the bike. YET... still need to run a gall test on it

alward25:
U want another to test?
