Lol... Those are stock width bars.
I've rode with that width for so many years I'm not sure I would like narrower bars but there are many that take an inch off of both ends, Sean Collier, and others 8-)

Well... It's been about 6 years since I built this bike when catastrophe happened.. :o :o :o
I was climbing a dune and misjudged the amount of speed it would take to just barely clear the top so I had to wind this baby up and leave it there for about 10 seconds... I made it to the top when I heard a rattling sound... I shut the engine off and got towed behind a side by side a few miles back to camp in the deep sand :(

I just let the bike sit in the garage for the last several months because I thought that I had ran it too lean and smoked the piston...
Well... the piston was smoked but not from being ran too lean...

As soon as I saw it I had a feeling I knew where that small bolt had come from...

In one of my "How To" threads I specifically say that if you use a VF2 reed that you need to take all the bolts out and use thread locker on them.
Apparently the Blue I used wasn't enough... So next time I will use the red... 8-)

So here my baby sits in need of some love...

After I get some fork cleaner in town tomorrow I will rinse out the bottom end and get it prepped for a test top end.
Yes.... Test top end.... :?:

Gee, sorry to hear about your misfortune!

BTW, what's "fork cleaner" - Brakleen (brake cleaner)? Can you guys on the left coast even get that anymore? ( No offense; gorgeous geography, but I understand it's a little top-heavy on the government.) ;)

I am stalled on my KX5 project... too little time & too hot in the garage. :( Sooner or later though....can't wait to ride it!!

P.S. Forgive me if I'm mistaken to lump Oregon in with California regarding heavy-handed government. :?

Lol... No, it seems that many have moved from California to Oregon and brought their various agenda's with them.
Protecting the environment is always a good thing... It's all how you go about it... So don't get me started
The real funny part is they are trying to make Oregon like the place that they moved from because they didn't like it... Strange

Anyhow... Fork Cleaner..
It is made to clean up the inside of your forks.
It smells a lot better then carb cleaner or brake cleaner.
I'll see if I can find a can..
