Re: KX GURU Racing 2016 KTM 250 SX PUMPKIN SEEDS BUILD
Some parts for the KTM only come in Pumpkin hide or black..
So, I blew the pumpkin hide right off this brake cooler with the vapor blaster..

I've been playing with Microsoft Paint trying to come up with a color scheme that I like.
Something like this is what I'm thinking..

Here is a short vid to describe where we are at in the build.
This is part one.
There will be other parts but I have no idea how many.
Enjoy and laugh as it is live and unrehearsed

Re: KX GURU Racing kx500 Engine in a 2016 KTM 250 SX PUMPKIN SEEDS BUILD
I found out last night that the welder is doing 3 passes with the tig.
He starts with a very small diameter rod so that he can get deep penetration into the crack where the two parts come together.
He does this in short weld sections to allow for cooling.
Tigging short sections then moving to another part that needs to be tigged, working his way around the frame until all the parts are fully welded has many benefits.
After the welds are fully done, he increases the tig rod diameter and starts process again.
I had no idea but it makes sense.
Keeping the chromoly cool will help to keep it from getting needlessly annealed.
