Christopher's KX500 Supermoto build.
Hi all,
Here is the story behind my supermoto build.
I purchased this bike for 3500.00 - with what the only owner says is under 100miles on the bike. He provided, what he says, is the original dirt tires and wheels, which have almost no tread removed.
He said that he didn't ride very much because his friends started getting out of it, plus his height made it more difficult for him to start the 500.
The bike:
In 2010 he decided to turn the 500 into a supermoto, so he bought a stator, rectifier/regulator, headlight, front turn signals, rear turn signals, brake light, trail tech vapor speedometer/tachometer, warp 9 wheels, tires (unsure of brand size), higher gearing, and aftermarket silencer. It also has a compression release.
My goal:
Add a battery and battery box (fiberglass most likely)
Add a key switch for security/power control
Finish the wiring harness
Add a kickstand
Add a horn
Clean and repair the boot from the carb to the head/reeds
Have the title changed to on-road use
Register the bike
Ride to and from work/church/around town
Maybe upgrade stator/ignition to the 100W MZB
Maybe add some sort of GPS tracking for theft recovery

If I recall correctly, previous owners brother dropped the bike and bent the subframe and exhaust. Can see the repair work in IMG_20160503_181943.jpg.

Except for a few minor things that bike looks sweet.
Get some works connection frame guards..
The video link is to a private video.
You will need to change the permissions on it so we can see it too

If bikes are for kids I'll never grow up.

I see you have a Larry Wiechman Decomp on the head.
Those are really nice when you kill it at a stop light and need to start it in a hurry

Got the video updated. I haven't figured out how to change the sharing permissions from my laptop, so I used my phone instead..
I was thinking to get the works connection frame guards, but I might do that after I get it on the road. Trying to budget and all.
