SHARKHIDE METAL PROTECTANT REVIEW BY OEM-CYCLE

So you spent hours and hours polishing that aluminum, brass, bronze, copper to a bright and shiny finish.
But in a very short amount of time you notice that it streaks, get's dull, and just starts looking oxidized.
What can you do?
I have heard of many different products but I kept being told over and over again, "Get some Sharkhide".
So that is what I did.
Here's some info from the manufacture:
SHARKHIDE is an ideal long term protectant for:
Aluminum
Copper
Brass
Steel
Stainless
Fiberglass
The materials that make up SHARKHIDE Metal Protectant are a proprietary blend of many types of resins. These resins are then suspended in a blend of two different solvents. When applied to a surface, the solvents rapidly evaporate leaving the actual SHARKHIDE Metal Protectant behind. This forms an air tight film over any metal surface, and will protect against just about anything Mother Nature can throw at it.
Protects against
Stains
Oxidation
Acid rain
Weathering
Salt Spray
Pitting
Clean surface throughly with Eastwood's PRE Painting prep. If the surface is stained or oxidized, use an aluminum cleaner to remove the imperfections. To apply, simply use a clean soft white cotton cloth and saturate with Sharkhide and wipe surface area. Do not pour onto surface. See product label for more application instructions.
Here's some pics of the can and the instructions:

I will get some aluminum polished and cleaned according to their instructions and see what we can find out so stay tuned ;)

Ok, so here's the test piece.

As some of you probably know this was a left over piece from my KX500 Super Moto project.
I polished it and then coated half of the polished area.
What?????
No metal prep, no baby diaper for an applicator?
Nope.
After all, why follow the directions?
We want to abuse the stuff.

And how many guys have baby diapers laying around their shop?
So I used a red shop rag.

As of today 3-7-13 the test piece is sitting on top of one of my shipping containers in direct weather conditions.
So, stay tuned for more information as time goes on ;)

Thanks for the testing SB,
I hope this stuff does work,
and if it won't protect the polished surface we could always use it for octane boost...
Xylene and Toluene were ingredients in a homebrew octane booster I mixed several years ago...
Oh Yea, I Found it on the Internet! :P

At 1.5 months it still looks great.
But that's not long enough of a test so stay tuned
