MSV Racing KX500 IMPELLERS FOR SALE NOW! $99 with gasket and button head fastener plus cheap fast shipping!

Mike Weir of KX GURU RACING has provided the first round of consistent on road impeller testing. More KX GURU RACING testing coming in the near future. We have off road and desert/sand dunes next! The harder you run your bike the better the MSV Racing OptiFlo KX500 "phi" Impeller cools!

When MSV Racing applied their highly successful OptiFlo CR500 “phi” Impeller design technology to help cool the ’85-’04 KX500, the result was an Impeller that easily out performed OEM, Mino, Frank’s MX and AS3 Impellers.

The KX500 “phi” impeller vanes are computer designed using “Golden Ratio” proportions based on the KX500’s H2O pump housing. This as well as closer tolerances between impeller and housing offer +1.2 average GPM more coolant flow and cooler coolant temps when you need it most! This increase in flow reduces the cycle time between the engine and the radiators allowing more heat removal quicker, lowering head and coolant temperatures.

Remember, horsepower = heat. Preventing your engine from heat soak is KEY to building and maintaining maximum engine performance. The more efficient the engine’s cooling system, the more heat (horsepower) it can handle.

Whether you’re racing Outlaw Karts, GNCC, Hill Climb, Sand Drags, Super Moto, or MX. Railing tight single track, sand dunes or just love the latest enhancement for your KX500, trust MSV Racing’s KX “phi” Impeller to help put you at the head of the pack!

The MSV Racing KX500 “phi” Impeller comes with the main pump cover gasket and button head impeller fastener for a seamless install.

$99 plus cheap, fast shipping! PM us your shipping address for a quote.
If bikes are for kids I'll never grow up.

The water temp was taken where it exits the head on the left side.
It is a Trail Tech TTO
Lol... Yes, it is mounted temporarily.
I wanted to get this testing done ASAP and the making of a new mounting plate for the key and gauge would have delayed me for another week.

To try and maintain the same conditions for each test I rode at a steady 55mph over a 7 mile road course.
3.5 miles out and 3.5 miles back.
Neighbors love me
No hard starts.
Just smooth easy riding.
Except for the elevation changes not exactly a difficult road :D

STARTING ELEVATION 412 FT
.5 MILES 442 FT
1.8 MILES 484 FT
2.4 MILES 779 FT
3.5 MILES 551 FT

Installation...

The MSV installs the same way as stock except that you need the impeller bolt which is included in the kit.

The AS3 is so tall that it requires a water pump spacer, longer bolt, additional gasket, and longer alignment pins.

So far, my impression is that the MSV PHI impeller is superior in just about every way to the stock and AS3 impellers.
Under the testing parameters, it cools better and is easier to install then the AS3.
I will be doing additional testing in the fall in desert/dune conditions so stay tuned 8-)

One other thought before I go... I bet that dyno results will show that the AS3 robs more power than the PHI but I will let the dyno runs speak for themselves.

Further testing info on the bike.
150/60-R17 rear wheel
15-43 sprockets.
We ran at 55mph at approx 4500 rpm.
Up hill, down hill... Trying to be a smooth as possible.

Later testing will be done with full throttle runs at low speeds.
Grill it baby :-)
