Sure, it's old... was designed in the mid to late 80's, had a few updates over the years, ignition, hubs, brake rotors, shock and forks but the rest is essentially the same...

On the right track it is more then competitive.
So what do the bike manufactures make?
More 4 pokes to blow the top ends at a time when the world wide economy is struggling...
Give us what we want!
Modern 2 strokes in modern chassis.
You have the technology sitting on the shelf...
Come on Kawasaki, Honda, Suzuki, and yes Yamaha..
Why Yamaha?
They have continued to manufacture 2 strokes and even use a modern chassis.
But their engine has changed little in over a decade.
Give us what we want!
NOW!!!!

KTM has the right idea but still hasn't fully committed to the true 2 stroke potential.
If bikes are for kids I'll never grow up.

I wonder how many emails it would take. If you could get near all the active users on the cr5 sites & the k5 site to bombard the oems' with "we want”. Look @ service Honda would have to be a point. I think the request would need to be a realistic standardized thought. 6-speed 5-600 cc's , more enduro oriented, over built with room to boost it even further "nikasil" super sized main bearings, chromalloy? frame, 4-5 gallon factory tank, power valve for sure.

I'm a broke dumb sob, but if a real big bore comes out that falls in that ^^^, I'm going in hawk to get one

Or, maybe I should start a new Group called Bring back the two strokes! Or something similar..

I'd say go into kx/cr riders & post the title Kawasaki / Honda set to release a new big bore, just call & tell them you want it. Really though ktm is the best bet followed by Yamaha where they never gave up on the 2-stroke guys. Wonder if units sold can be found as a figure, ktm300/yz250 if you know the # they need beforehand & if you can get x2+ of that in "I wants". Market demand not "oh we think this is what you need".

There is some very interesting info there.
It gives me hope that the US market will recover soon.
All that being said I posted my idea on some of the facebook pages and found that there is a site that does proport to bring the 2 stroke back:

Thanks for the link. The disjointedness of each individuals preference is the biggest obstacle to getting any kind of positive response . Easier for them to provide cookie cutter anybody can ride machines. I think that's part of the problem of how we ended up with no big bore selection. Easier to sell 4 strokes that don't take as much skill to "run".
