I pulled the pipe guard off my CR500AF to weld up a crack on the expansion chamber and I just thought I'd try sticking the guard on my KX500. It fit not too bad, you can see there's a bit of a gap on the underside by the right side, it also doesn't go up as high as I'd like but way better than nothing, definitely better than those aluminium ones that are basically a one crash use kinda guard. If you're not into making your own carbon fiber or fiberglass guards this isn't a bad way to get a guard on these old bikes.
I bought the guard from p3's site, it's designed for FMF CR500AF pipes. I have a FMF gnarly pipe on my KX500, I doubt it would fit on a stock KX500 pipe. I tried putting the guard on a Pro Circuit Platinum CR500 pipe and it didn't work.
Here's a link for where I bought my guard from

Re: Carbon Fiber Pipe Guard KX500
That looks good and it should fit pretty well..
That pipe is a cr500 pipe with the inlet modded to fit the kx500 cylinder.
I have one for a AF project

If bikes are for kids I'll never grow up.
