Jason Tanner's KX500 frame gusset kit.

Post by Sandblaster » Sat Mar 30, 2019 1:54 am

The KX500 is a dinosaur when it comes to frame construction.
Let's get real.... I love the KX500 but that frame is basically the same from 1988-2004 :o  :o
The geometry is great for what it was designed for.
But it was never designed for guys like this:

Even when the KX500 was being backed by the factory, it's limitations were well known.
After all they developed a awesome frame gusset setup for their factory riders.
Until recently we have been suck imitating the factory effort on our own.
No more 8-)
Jason Tanner sat down and developed a gusset kit for the KX500 that you can buy.
If after reviewing this post, you want to buy a kit call Jason at 541-653-5334.
I have no details for pricing but the kit is well under a hundred...
If bikes are for kids I'll never grow up.

I just picked this up from the weld shop today.
It's over at powder coat and I'll get you more detailed pics when it's done.

Jason has a kit that is very similar to the old Team Green set up.
He also has another version that replaces the Team Green Band-aid fix for the upper exhaust mount on the right side.
I'll post pics of both styles when I get them...

Is there a website where I can order a kit? I'm getting ready to do a complete tear down and its the perfect time to add this kit.

Jason??? Website???
Nope.. he's not a web guy but you can call him and talk to him any time... At least when he answers

Since he is a working man he often has greasy hands and can't always answer so leave him a message.
If he does not respond right away pester him... I love it :D
