Ok, the compression is dialed in with the new head installed. The chassis is set for height. I changed the bar style to give it a bot more stability at high speed. The steering stem bearings loosened up a bit since I built this bike so I made that adjustment. I bled the front brakes so they grab a b...

Re: 92 KX500 Land Speed Record Attempt Production Class
9-16-22 Update. Bonneville was a bust this year as we were rained out. It's hard to hit a Land Speed record with 4" of water covering the lake bed  Anyhow, testing and tuning continues... Which is good. We have picked up a few more miles an hour with changes to the crank, muffler packing, and...

Ever wonder what it weighs?
I did too..

Re: 92 KX500 Land Speed Record Attempt Production Class
Bam!!! Unofficially Jason Tanner at JT Engine Works just went faster a Production 500cc single cylinder than anyone on the planet :o With our Rev 3 top end we beat our best run by approx 4 miles an hour. That said, it is unofficial and I believe that we still need to fine tune it. What is possible? ...

Re: Customer jetting for a KX500
From Steve Paxton: Mike here are my 1993 KX 500 settings. My home altitude is 3500ft to 5000ft around Vegas, riding Desert washes and mountain single line. I also race/ride upwards of 6500ft to 9000ft In mid state locations. I get excellent performance and mocha brown plug readings when up that high...

Re: The Haas KX500 build. Dyno Doug Haas
I think I'm going to try a Smart Carb SC2 on this build. The fact that you can set the carb up and do huge changes in elevation and you don't have to mess with jetting is a real plus. But how will it perform? Stay tuned for a review at some time in the future.. Screenshot_20220611-191016_Instagram.j...

Re: The Haas KX500 build. Dyno Doug Haas
These rear brake hose holders look really good.
The issue as always is that pointless bling can sometimes kick you in the back side.
The plastic holders are just about indestructible, but these billet aluminum holders will likely snap off if I hit a rock...
