Is there anyway to modernize the front number plate on 1993 KX500 when everything is still stock? Forks, trees,etc? I know it’s mission critical but just curious if anyone has upgraded that and the front fender? Thanks!

You were right... keyway sheared off. Wow these keyways are really small compared to the Honda 500. I think some lapping is in order. Sandblaster, thank you again so much for the info l, super helpful and spot on with the diagnosis.
