Re: Cylinder repair
Figured I would post an update. sent my cylinder to Tom Morgan, got it back last Friday. He repaired the exhaust area, and sent the cylinder out to be re-plated to the piston I also purchased from him. Very happy with his work, price was reasonable and I would recommend him to anyone. Now I just hav...

Re: Cylinder repair
No worries, I am jealous you got to disappear into the desert for a few days! I am in the U.S., so I will contact Tom Morgan.

Cylinder repair
So digging further into the KX500 I bought months ago and finding more and more issues. Looks like the pipe has worn into the aluminum where it inserts into the cylinder. There was muck everywhere around this area on the cylinder and frame, this is not allowing the pipe to seal up. Is this fixable? ...

Re: Powerdynamo MZB INSTALLATION ON A KX500
Are you still running this ignition? If so, how is it holding up? Since my 500 is now 17 years old, i was thinking about buying all new electronics for it and keep my existing stuff as spares. (Who knows how long until these items are discontinued.) After looking, looks like it will cost me $650 for...

Re: UPDATING KX500 SUSPENSION.
Rear shock is getting rebuilt, revalved, and resprung. Going with a Race Tech gold valve, then I have a new seal head, bladder, and new bottom out bumper. Just need to find the time to get the shock off the bike and get it done.

Re: UPDATING KX500 SUSPENSION.
Here are a few pics of my fork swap. I picked up a 2000 KX500 about a month ago. I own a 2016 YZ450FX, so did some measuring and research before I even bought a 500 and learned that the Yamaha stuff is real close. I used a caliper to measure the diameter of both sets of forks, but since it is just a...
